If you then go to the dairy section you will see all the different milk alternatives like soya milk, almond milk, try one or two to find which you like. Here, you will also find vegan cheese, sliced vegan cheese and spreadable vegan cheese.

What's wrong with the world?

The earth is suffering from environmental destruction, deforestation of the rainforest, the alarming rate of deaths from heart disease and cancer amongst the population, the increasing amount of greenhouse gases, the rising rate of human injustice, and cruelty. Further to this it is claimed by Philip Woollen that any child under the age of five won't get to reach retirement age due to the destruction of the oceans.
Being vegan addresses all these problems and prevent the needless suffering of 74 billion land animals and 2.7 trillion sea creatures.
On a secondary note a Texas Observer article reports that slaughterhouse workers face negative emotional and psychological consequences, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Becoming vegan will also prevent this type of human suffering.

The vegan diet - NHS

There is no cholesterol in plants.

It is the position of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics that appropriately planned vegetarian, including vegan, diets are healthful, nutritionally adequate, and may provide health benefits for the prevention and treatment of certain diseases. These diets are appropriate for all stages of the life cycle, including pregnancy, lactation, infancy, childhood, adolescence, older adulthood, and for athletes. Plant-based diets are more environmentally sustainable than diets rich in animal products because they use fewer natural resources and are associated with much less environmental damage. Vegetarians and vegans are at reduced risk of certain health conditions, including ischemic heart disease, type 2 diabetes, hypertension, certain types of cancer, and obesity. Low intake of saturated fat and high intakes of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, legumes, soy products, nuts, and seeds (all rich in fiber and phytochemicals) are characteristics of vegetarian and vegan diets that produce lower total and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels and better serum glucose control. These factors contribute to reduction of chronic disease. Vegans need reliable sources of vitamin B-12, such as fortified foods or supplements.

Dr Callum Roberts, a Professor of Marine Conservation at the University of York, explained the human consequence: If the oceans die we certainly will. Yet we kill more fish per year than all the humans who have lived on Earth, ever. Many of the fish we catch are simply thrown over the side because they’re over quota or the wrong species, or they’re not quite big enough. We can’t take as much as we like. We’re overfishing the oceans. We’re causing a decline in marine life. What’s needed is a political leadership which says this is a real problem. If we act decisively, we can bring them back from the brink.
A simpler and more realistic solution you would for every one to become vegan, things won't improve where politics or the capitalist machine is the driving force. Becoming a vegan is a solution that is within our individual grasp.

Keegan Kuhn, who co-created Cowspiracy, told UNILAD: The leading cause of water pollution around the world is animal agriculture. Animals produce a tremendous amount of waste and that waste ends up in our waterways. That water is washed out to sea and creates zones so polluted with nitrogen, they’re devoid of all life because there’s no oxygen left in the water.

Being a vegan is cheaper than eating meat, chickens, diary, fish and eggs. Most diary farmers are stuggling and need to be subsidised. Becoming plant farmers instead will be more profitable for less work.

Becoming vegan is a more productive use of available land. It will improve the "smell of the country", fields full of plants are going to smell better than fields of cows. Becoming vegan reduces the polution caused by farming animals.

But what about health? A study says that a vegan diet is suitable for all stages of life. Vitamins that are needed are A, C, D, E, K, B6, B12, protein, calcium. All these can be obtained from plants except vitamin D (mushrooms) and B12. B12 can be obtained from animals but this is largely because the animals are injected with it. Naturally B12 can be obtain from duck weed, soil. We don't like to eat soil because of salmonela but this comes from animal feceas. Most people take paracetamol or asprin every day. What is wrong with taking B12 supliments to off set animal cruelty.

We should be vegan because there is no reason to eat meat apart from we think it is right because of our up bringing and brain washing. Land of hope and glory

We spend a lot of time, energy and money trying to fit in, we are taught that if we don't comform we will be victimized. Eg, conscentious objectors during the war. There is something wrong with you if you don't like football, are squeemish and soft if you don't like hunting and fishing. You get picked on at school if you are different. If you like different music, wear different clothes or have different skin colour, height, size, sexuality or religion, society needs scape goats. This force is a very powerful force, take smoking for example, it's not an easy thing to learn and yet children learn it just to fit in and show how tough they are.

Why be vegan?

We already produce enough crops to feed the world but using it to feed to animals for the meat industry is alot more profitable. It is the pursuit of profit that has caused all the worlds problems, by becoming vegan you use the supply and demand chain of events to stop the abuse and slaughter of 74 billion land animals and 2.7 trillion sea creatures with the side benefits of reduced green house gases, deforestation of the rain forest, the pollution of the sea, the destruction of natural habits and landscapes. More CO2 is produced by cows that the whole of the transport industry. Seaspiracy documentary

Like us, these animals embody the mystery and wonder of consciousness.

Like us, they are not only in the world, they are aware of it.

Like us, they are the psychological centres of a like that is uniquely their own.

There isn't a legal definition or formal standard for free range pigs, so farmers can label any pigs, kept in any conditions, as free range.

Only 3 percent of pigs will spend their entire lives out doors.

Female pig artifically inseminated over and over for 3 to five years and then slaughtered for cheap grade meat.
